Manchester United loanee Anthony Martial has named two world class teams who showed interest in signing him before he opted to join Sevilla.
Martial left Man United to join Sevilla on loan after failing to bounce back into the first team.
This happened following the signings of Jadon Sancho and Cristiano Ronaldo from Borussia Dortmund and Juventus respectively.
Martial made just one appearance for Manchester United under Ralf Rangnick before his exit.
Before his transfer to La Liga, the likes of Juventus and Barcelona showed interest in luring the 26-year-old forward.
And Martial, who made his Sevilla debut last weekend against Osasuna, confirmed this speculation to be true.
“Here, I have the chance to be a starter, to play regularly as I wanted.”
The former Monaco forward made his first La Liga appearance on Saturday but his performance was dreadful as he failed to register a shot or create a chance as Sevilla were held to rather a frustrating goalless draw away from home.
Julen Lopetegui warns that the Manchester United forward must do more for Sevilla but understands the striker needs some time to adapt to a totally different league.
Lopetegui told AS: “Martial of course must give us much more, he must adapt and enter the dynamics of the team, he has played little this year. But I’m sure he will enter that dynamic.”
