Anthony Martial produces top class assist to hand Sevilla 2-0 lead vs Elche

Manchester United loanee Anthony Martial makes his presence felt when he produced a top class assist to help Sevilla double their lead over Elche.

The home side were the better side in the first half but failed to break the deadlock, despite having Martial in the starting lineup.

Anthony Martial moved to Sevilla last month in a bid to get more playing time and so far, he is getting his desire.

The 26-year-old made his Sevilla debut as a starter against Osasuna but his performance was next to nothing, which led Julen Lopetegui to criticise the France star.

The Man United loanee has opened his account with La Liga side when he produced what many would describe as a top class assist to Rafa Mir, who headed Martial’s left-footed cross into the back of the net in the 76th minute.

The fact the forward accurately crossed the ball into the area with his left-foot takes the praise of the assist to a different level.

Six minutes after the assist, Lopetegui replaced the former Monaco forward with Fernando Reges.

Martial’s performance was decent, despite having no reasonable chances to convert from.

His search for his first Sevilla’s goal continues and will look to try again when they face Dinamo Zagreb in the Europa League round of 32 on February 17.
