Arsenal key player remains a doubt for Manchester United trip

Arsenal are hopeful they would travel to Old Trafford to face Manchester United on Thursday with key player Bukayo Saka in their squad despite injury issues.

The England international limped off during the Gunners’ 2-0 win over Newcastle United last weekend.

The thigh issue is not believed to be serious and his substitution was precautionary, with Mikel Arteta commenting after the win: ‘It was an action where he said he felt something muscular. He [Bukayo Saka] wasn’t comfortable to continue and we’ll have to assess him.’

Arsenal will lock horns against Manchester United on Thursday at Old Trafford, hoping to continue their fine form and according to Daily Mail, Arteta remains hopeful the 20-year-old winger would make the matchday squad.

The same report claims that Arsenal will continue to assess Saka before making the final decision on Wednesday.

Saka has secured 13 Premier League appearances [12 starts] for the Gunners this season and scored his second league goal against Newcastle United.

That being reported, Manchester United will welcome Harry Maguire back to the squad after the England international missed United’s last weekend’s impressive 1-1 draw at Chelsea due to suspension.
