Barcelona would turn their attention on Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes if their attempt to sign Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund failed, according to reports.
Haaland has attracted the likes of Manchester City, Man United, PSG, Real Madrid, and Barca, thanks to his scintillating form.
Daily Mail reported this week that Man City have identified the Norway international as their ‘top priority’.
BILD report that PSG are planning on a £300million transfer fee to lure Haaland off Dortmund at the end of the season, with the player set to receive £30million annually.
Barcelona are also in the race for the goal machine but EL Nacional report that the Catalans would turn their hunt on Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes if they lost in the race for the forward.
Fernandes has been a key player at Old Trafford since leaving Sporting Lisbon for Man United two years ago.
The Portuguese midfielder has broken several records since joining United and despite struggling to replicate his top form this season, the prolific midfielder remains highly rated at the club.
As a result, the Red Devils wouldn’t be looking at cashing in on the midfielder at the end of the season plus Paul Pogba’s future at the club remains unclear.
Manchester United are planning on extending Fernandes’ contract, despite signing him less than two years ago, and this would cool off interest from Barcelona and other suitors.
Fernandes started on the bench against Wolves on Monday and made his presence felt but his contributions weren’t enough to prevent United from succumbing to a 1-0 defeat at home.
