Manchester United new signing Bruno Fernandes has already won the hearts of many United fans after vowing to give his all to help bring trophies to Old Trafford.
Fernandes’ move to the Theatre of Dreams was made official today and has signed a five-and-a-half-year deal with the Red Devils.
His arrival would help improve Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad that has been plummeted by injuries to Paul Pogba, Scott McTominay and Marcus Rashford.
Speaking to MUTV ahead of Wolves game, Fernandes said: “For me to now play for Manchester United feels incredible, I have worked hard to get to this moment and I can promise the fans that I will give everything for the badge to help bring us more success and trophies.”
The Portuguese midfielder was linked with moves to Old Trafford in the summer but the Red Devils could not finalise the deal in time.
While suggestions claimed Solskjaer wasn’t a fan of the prolific midfielder due to how he loses possession in the attacking position, the former Sporting star could not resist to thank Ole for having trust in him.
“A massive thank you to Ole and everyone at Manchester United for the trust they have shown in me and I can’t wait to start to repay that on the pitch.”
Fernandes will be the fourth player Manchester United have signed from Sporting Lisbon and the goalscoring midfielder claims it was Cristiano Ronaldo who made him love United.
“My love of Manchester United really started when I used to watch Cristiano Ronaldo play and ever since then I have been a big fan of this great club.”
