Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has named James Garner as the club’s academy graduate he’s looking forward to play alongside at Old Trafford.
The Man United central midfielder is attracting praises while starring at Nottingham Forest in the Championship.
Garner is expected to return to Manchester United at the end of the season and several reports have claimed that the midfielder wants to remain at United and fight for a starting role ahead of next season.
With Paul Pogba likely to leave the club for free in the summer, James Garner could replace the World Cup winner.
James Garner’s performances on set-pieces also hand him an edge to be included in the first team, given how The Red Devils have struggled to convert from dead balls this season.
And Bruno Fernandes may have given Manchester United next manager’s the green light to include the Englishman to the first team squad ahead of next season with his recommendation.
During a #AskBruno quiz on Twitter, a fan asked him: “who’s the player from the academy that you really look forward to play with one day?”
The Portuguese midfielder signed a new contract with Man United today that will run until 2026, with an option for an extra year.
Fernandes vows that he and his team-mates are still working hard to ensure they provide the success the fans deserve.
Bruno Fernandes told MUTV: “There is so much more that I want to achieve here, and I know that is the same for the rest of the squad and staff.
“More than anything, we want to give the fans the success that they deserve.”
