Manchester United had a brilliant chance to go ahead early in the game but Bruno Fernandes’ refusal to pass to Cristiano Ronaldo thwarted that chance.
Man United started a superb counter-attack that was inspired by Ronaldo’s beautiful backheel. Anthony Elanga getting on the end of that rightfully ignored Paul Pogba to put Bruno Fernandes through on goal.
The Portuguese midfielder ignored Ronaldo, who was clearly in a better position to score, and tried his luck on goal but Ben Forster easily saved Fernandes’ strike.
Ronaldo could be seen visibly showing his frustration on his compatriot.
Fans have since slammed Bruno Fernandes‘ poor decision to try his luck from a tight corner, insisting that he should have passed the ball to Ronaldo.
A host of missed chances would take its toll on Manchester United as they were held to a frustrating goalless draw against Watford.
