Chris Sutton names 10 players Manchester United should sell in the summer after Man City loss

Chris Sutton has suggested that Manchester United legend Roy Keane was kind when he said about six players don’t deserve to play for the club again, insisted that about ten stars should be binned.

Man United suffered one of their worst defeats this season and their worst under Ralf Rangnick when they got battered 4-1 by Manchester City at Etihad.

Following the embarrassing defeat, Keane said there were about six players who should never play for Manchester United again.

The Irishman claimed that The Red Devils gave up in the second half, something that he described as ‘shameful’, given the size of Man United.

“I could write down five or six players who I think should never play for Man United again. Just shameful, shameful,” Keane told Sky Sports.

“Subs coming on and you hope they’re going to have an impact but they’re not prepared to run around. A couple of lads in midfield, Wan-Bissaka, Fred, Maguire, Rashford came on, I could go on.

“The old saying of men vs boys. They gave up and shame on them.”

Sutton was happy to add to the list, writing in the Daily Mail: “I might be the first person to ever utter these words but here goes: Roy Keane was kind. He said “five or six” should never play for Manchester United again. I’d say that’s modest.”

Sutton went on to mention the 10 Manchester United players that he would ‘bin’ as: Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Alex Telles, Fred, Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard, Cristiano Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani.

Marcus Rashford has struggled to get regular playing time at Manchester United, with Ralf Rangnick preferring Anthony Elanga, Jadon Sancho and Cristiano Ronaldo as his attackers.

Now, Rashford, who faced Manchester City as a second half substitute, is reportedly thinking about his future amid lack of playing time under the German.

But Chris Sutton isn’t having any of that, insisting that the England international should ‘pop off’.

“Reports have suggested he wants out. If that’s the case, off you pop,” added Sutton.

“If Rashford is looking for someone to blame for his United career going downhill then he should look at himself.”

On Maguire he added: “Maguire’s £80m move to United hasn’t worked out. He’s not the Virgil van Dijk they hoped he was.”
