Fans on Twitter have reacted after Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo missed from the penalty spot against Middlesbrough in the FA Cup fourth final.

Man United were wasteful in the first half, otherwise they would have headed into the break with three or four goals ahead.

Jadon Sancho hit the crossbar after Boro’s goalie spilled the ball off. Ronaldo’s acrobatic effort inside the penalty box was well saved.

Paul Pogba was fouled inside in the penalty box and Cristiano Ronaldo stood behind to take the duty from the 6 yards.

Just when Manchester United fans thought they had finally gotten the chance to get the breakthrough, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner missed the target from the spot.

A few minutes later, the former Real Madrid star had another chance to get his first goal of the year but this time his strike went straight at Boro’s goalie.

Another Twitter user claimed he knew Ronaldo would miss the penalty spot due to his preparation for the kick.

I legit felt that Ronaldo would miss the penalty, when he closed his eyes I thought he was a bit nervous on the inside. #MUFC 👊🏽🔴👹

Though Ronaldo has missed a couple of chances in the game, his performance looks promising and could get on the score sheet if his intensity remains.
