Cristiano Ronaldo sets up new record after second goal vs Switzerland

Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo has set up a new record after scoring his second goal against Switzerland.

William Carvalho opened the scoring early in the game to hand Portugal a 1-0 lead over the Swiss side.

In the 35th minute, Ronaldo doubled their lead with a brilliant finish. Watch it here.

Shortly after his first goal, a beautiful team play down the left-wing involving Bruno Fernandes led to a big chance and the 37-year-old, who was in the right position at the right time, needed a perfect touch to ensure the chance didn’t go begging.

His second goal makes Cristiano Ronaldo the first player to score 100 non-penalty goals at international level.

In total, the Portuguese icon has now scored 117 international goals.
