Crystal Palace show loan interest in Manchester United defender

Crystal Palace are reportedly planning a loan move for Manchester United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, according to reports.

Reports emerged this week that Wan-Bissaka is attracting interest from Palace this summer, having lost his starting role at Man United under Ralf Rangnick.

Manchester United signed the 24-year-old from Crystal Palace three seasons ago for a reported £50million transfer fee.

The fullback impressed in his first season at Old Trafford and his first competitive appearance ended in a comfortable 4-0 win over Chelsea at Old Trafford.

In his second season, where he got hailed by many as one of the best one-on-one defenders, the former Crystal Palace fullback helped United to a second-place finish in the Premier League and runners-up in the Europa League.

However, following the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Aaron Wan-Bissaka lost his starting role to Diogo Dalot and has come under criticism from fans and pundits.

As a result, many fans have urged the club to cash in on the English right-back, and reports have suggested that Wan-Bissaka is one of the first team players who could leave the club in the summer as part of the squad rebuild under Erik ten Hag.

A few teams including Crystal Palace have shown interest in resigning their former defender in the summer.

But according to The Athletics, any potential move for Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Crystal Palace is likely to be on a loan rather than a permanent switch.

The versatile defender, who played at left-back against Liverpool last midweek, has made 20 Premier League appearances for United so far but has no goals or assists to show.

Last season, he scored two goals and provided 4 assists in 34 league matches.
