Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has hailed Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba ahead of tonight’s clash against Manchester United in the Champions League.
Pogba has been touted by many managers, pundits and team-mates as a world-class midfielder, with them claiming he is one the rarest complete midfielders in the world.
Simeone’s praises on Scott McTominay would definitely raise eyebrows, given the widespread criticism he and his famous double pivot partner, Fred, have endured.
McTominay is one of Rangnick’s undroppable players at United, and was part of the squads that won Brighton and Hove Albion and Leeds United on Tuesday and Sunday respectively in the Premier League.
The Manchester United academy graduate is expected to retain his starting role in a midfield that could consist of Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes when The Red Devils locked horns with Atletico in Spain tonight.
Speaking ahead of the clash, the Atleti boss spoke highly of Pogba and McTominay, claiming both midfielders are the two of the best midfielders in the world with great balance.
“I am incredibly impressed with the work rate.
“Pogba and McTominay are two of the best midfielders in the world with a great balance.”
