Early injury update on Lisandro Martínez and Victor Lindelof after Arsenal game

Manchester United defender Lisandro Martínez was forced out in the second half after suffering a knock but reports in Argentina are claiming the injury isn’t as bad as first feared.

Erik ten Hag replaced Martinez with Harry Maguire midway through the second half and minutes later, Victor Lindelof left the pitch and was replaced by Jonny Evans.

Many Man United fans have imagined Evans and Maguire as only available centre-backs at the club ahead of their Champions League opener but recent reports have suggested that the duo maybe available for United’s next game against Brighton and Hove Albion.

According to Gaston Edul, Martinez did not sustain any injury against Arsenal and will be part of the Argentina squad for their upcoming friendly matches.

After the game, Martinez was seen walking alongside Alejandro Garnacho out of the Emirates Stadium without any limp.

Erik ten Hag also confirmed that Lindelof didn’t leave the pitch because of an injury but rather because he was I’ll.

After the game, the Dutchman said: “Victor [Lindelof] was sick, he had to go out.”

Manchester United lost 3-1 to Arsenal after a couple of wrong decisions made by the match officials.

Erik ten Hag believes Man United’s second goal, which kept United 2-1 up, from Alejandro Garnacho was not an offside goal, thinks Rasmus Højlund was fouled inside Arsenal’s penalty box and Declan Rice’s goal should have been disallowed because Gabriel held Jonny Evans.
