Manchester United defender Eric Bailly made a crucial save during the last seconds of the game at Old Trafford to help United beat Aston Villa.
Man United snatched a hard-earned 2-1 victory over Aston Villa at home to go on a level with Liverpool in the Premier League.
Anthony Martial had scored a header in the 38th minute to put Manchester United in front at half-time after reaching on the end of Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s cross.
In the 50th minute, Bertrand Traore pulled Man United’s lead behind after converting from Jack Grealish’s short cross.
A couple of minutes later, Bruno Fernandes scored from the penalty spot to restore Manchester United’s lead. Paul Pogba was fouled inside the penalty area, Michael Olivier pointed at the spot and because it was a controversial call, the VAR took a look at the scene and decided to stand with the first call.
Aston Villa fought to get back into the game and their relentlessness were subdued by Man United’s defence’s resilience and booth David de Gea and Eric Bailly made some fine stops.

After de Gea had pulled off fine saves in late in the game, Villa’s star Keinan Davis found himself inside United’s penalty area and had a shot on goal but Eric Bailly blocked what was expected to be Aston Villa’s equaliser.
Manchester United successfully beat Aston Villa at home and are on the same points (33) as first-place Liverpool.
