Manchester United defender Eric Bailly has predicted that new signing Amad Diallo will do ‘well’ at Old Trafford upon his arrival and urges everyone to be patient with him.
Man United finally unveiled the signing of Amad Diallo Traore in January after his £35million transfer fee was completed last summer. Due to no time of finalising the remaining transfer details, the Ivorian forward remained with Atalanta until the winter transfer window.
It is suggested that 18-year-old would start with Man United team reserves but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly keen on having the new signing as part of his first-team at once.
Eric Bailly has eased tension over the former Atalanta players, claiming the youngster is a good player with good talents but implored everyone to have patience with him as he plans to settle down at Manchester United.
“I know Amad,” Eric Bailly told United Review. “I speak with him. He’s a young player with good talents but we know it is important to keep calm with any new guys. I think he will do well but it important to keep calm with him.
“I am ready to help him. I’m ready to help every player. That, for me, is very important. When I came to this team, I had players with big experience. I remember [Wayne] Rooney, Ibra [Zlatan Ibrahimovic], Antonio Valencia. Players like this helped me when I came. So when young players come, it’s very important to help these guys.”
When Eric was asked if Amad Diallo will be glad the rocky defender [Eric Bailly] is on his side and not playing against him, he laughed and said: “Ha, yes. He’s a top man. I speak with him and speak with the family. Now the guy is very happy to sign for Manchester United. Everybody waits for him and that’s it.”
The waiting will soon be over with Diallo due to start training with his new team-mates soon, when all the necessary paperwork has been completed.
Amad Diallo will travel to Manchester today ahead of Manchester United clash against Watford in the FA Cup third round.
