Incoming boss Erik ten Hag has been urged to build his new Manchester United squad around two long-term transfer targets.
That’s according to Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, who reckons that Man United wouldn’t be doing anything wrong if they signed Harry Kane or Jude Bellingham.
Manchester United have been long admirers of the England international and not a single transfer window in the past that didn’t report Harry Kane to Old Trafford speculation.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was interested in signing Kane from Tottenham last two seasons and several pundits had advised United to break the bank for the 28-year-old forward.
Jude Bellingham is yet another long-term target for Manchester United. United were one of his admirers when the England international was at Birmingham City.
However, Bellingham moved to Dortmund last two seasons and has been a revelation in the German Bundesliga.
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has urged Erik ten Hag to build his team around both English players despite having the likes of Marcus Rashford, Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes present at the club.
‘If you’re talking about the League Cup or the FA Cup, Harry Kane may have a chance at Tottenham, but if you’re talking about the Premier League and the Champions League, then he needs to move,’ he told Prime Slots.
‘You can see that Antonio Conte is getting frustrated with recruitment, both adding and selling players, so if he doesn’t continue in his role as manager, then Kane doesn’t have a chance and he will definitely need to leave.
‘Another one that I would buy is Jude Bellingham. If United are serious about rebuilding the squad, go and get Bellingham and build the team around him. They won’t go wrong with him or Harry Kane.’
