Erik ten Hag eyes early start to his new Manchester United job after holiday comments

Erik ten Hag has suggested that he would make an early start to his new Manchester United managerial job after confirming that he’s not ready to go on a holiday.

Man United announced Ten Hag as their next permanent manager in April but will start his work at the end of the season, when he will have replaced interim manager, Ralf Rangnick.

According to some reports, the Dutchman could attend Manchester United‘s last game of the season against Crystal Palace next weekend.

And following Ajax’s 2-2 draw at Vitesse on Sunday, the 52-year-old, who won the Eredivisie title on Wednesday after a 5-0 win over Hereenven, might have confirmed the speculation to be true when he confirmed he would rather use his holidays to start his new job at Old Trafford.

“It’s time to turn the switch now,” Ten Hag said via TheEuropeanLad, Twitter when asked if he will have a holiday now following Ajax’s last game of the season. “It’s something that is needed because there is a lot to take care off and I have the energy for it.”

On whether if he’s ready for the ‘sharks’ of the English media, the Dutch tactician said: “I don’t see them like that.

“What it’s all about is the dressing room, you need to be able to manage the dressing room. You have to make it function. That’s how you win games.”
