‘Exceptional’ Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho has been told he would be ‘unstoppable’ if he had joined Liverpool.
That is according to the former Tottenham star Jonathan Woodgate, who further claims that Sancho would fit into Jurgen Klopp’s philosophy at Liverpool.
Man United signed the England international from Borussia Dortmund last summer in a deal worth around £72million but struggled to hit the ground up and running during his first few weeks at Old Trafford.
However, in the last few weeks, most notably, after the international break, the 21-year-old has been unplayable and a joy to watch.
He continued his superb form against Leeds United, providing two assists to help Manchester United return back to Carrington with a comfortable 4-2 win.
Sancho won the Man of the Match award for his scintillating performance and he has been touted as the top favourite to win the Manchester United Player of the Month of February award.
Despite his eye-catching performances under Ralf Rangnick, Jonathan Woodgate still believes the ex-Dortmund star would have been ‘unstoppable’ if he joined The Reds.
Speaking on Match of the Day 2 after United’s win in Yorkshire, Woodgate said: ‘He [Jadon Sancho] was exceptional you need a bit of time to settle in and you need a manager to really, really believe in you and what you can do.
‘He’s started to play a lot of games now for United and he’s showing how good he is. Coming back from Germany you need that time and at Man Utd at the moment it’s not been great has it.
‘I tell you what he’d be an unbelievable player for Liverpool him. He’d be unbelievable. He’d fit into their system no problem.’
