Paul Pogba may have given Manchester United the green light to sign Eduardo Camavinga after claiming the midfielder is a ‘very good’ youngster and he likes him ‘enormously’.
Reports emerged last week claiming Man United are one of the top European clubs attempting to sign Camavinga from Rennes this summer.
The 18-year-old has been a key player for Rennes for the past two seasons and with his deal set to expire at the end of next season, the midfielder could continue his progress elsewhere.
The Mirror reports that Rennes would be willing to let the midfielder leave the club if a region of £25million was offered, a bargain for one of the brightest prospects on the continent.
This is because the Ligue 1 club rather don’t want to risk losing the teenager for free next season when his current deal eventually elapses.
Paul Pogba was only able to rave about his compatriot when asked about the Rennes midfielder’s character.
“To score after his first start [against Ukraine in a friendly], that is honestly wonderful,” the Manchester United midfielder said.
“I was truly happy for him (Eduardo Camavinga). I only wish him the best and much more. He has everything for that.
“His future is in his hands. He is very at ease, he is a little dancer. He makes me think a bit about me.
“He is not a timid person. It is good, because he is confident. He has confidence in his qualities.
“He is a very good youngster, I like him enormously.”
