Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has heaped praise on Eric Bailly ahead of AS Roma clash at Old Trafford on Thursday night in the Europa League.
Despite his lack of game time under Solskjaer, Eric Bailly would still pen a new four-year deal with Man United.
It is obvious that the Norwegian boss prefers the likes of Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof as his first-choice centre-back pairing but whenever the Ivorian defender plays, fans tend to question why Solskjaer prefers Maguire and Lindelof ahead of the former Villareal defender.
Bailly is no doubt one of the finest defenders in the Premier League when fit and his lack of getting a run of games under the club legend is down to his lack of fitness due to injury and health issues.
Regardless, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer still believes the 27-year-old defender has never let Manchester United when he’s on the pitch and has remarked that the centre-half is improving with the ball – a quality that both Maguire and Lindelof are better at.

With Bailly limited to only cup games this season, it is yet to be seen if the Ivory Coast defender would start for Man United against Roma on Thursday night but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is pleased with the player’s resilient.
“Eric [Bailly] has been showing that he is more and more resilient, more robust,” Solskjaer told MUTV.
“He [Eric Bailly] has shown throughout the season he is maturing and we want to get the best out of him.
“He is highly regarded, the boys love him. He never lets us down — he is improving with the ball, very pleased he is staying.”
