"I hope he gets it" - Daley Blind sends plea to Man United board over Erik ten Hag

Ajax defender Daley Blind has pleaded with the Manchester United board to have Erik ten Hag’s back, regardless of the situation at the club.

Man United announced in April that Ten Hag would become their new manager at the end of the season, which will see him take over from Ralf Rangnick after United’s last game against Crystal Palace this weekend.

The Dutchman is expected to take United back to the top, something previous managers post-Sir Alex Ferguson has failed to achieve.

With Manchester City signing more players to improve their already improved squad with the signings of Erling Haaland and Alvarez and Liverpool looking better and better, Erik ten Hag would go through the lot during the process of matching with the top guns in the league.

And Daley Blind has urged the Man United board to give the 52-year-old time and support, regardless of the situation at the club.

Erik ten Hag is a great guy,” Blind said. “I am quite confident in him at Manchester United but he needs the board behind him.

“At Ajax he had Van der Sar & Overmars behind him no matter what, also in bad times. I hope he gets the time there, he is one of the best managers around.”
