Manchester United forward Jadon Sancho has apologised to the fans after Saturday’s embarrassing defeat to Manchester City.
Man United were trounced heavily 4-1 by their local rival at Etihad on Saturday evening, with United putting out the worst performance under Ralf Rangnick.
Kevin de Bruyne opened the scoring early in the game but Sancho put Manchester United back in the game with a superb curl.
After a shaky defending from United, de Bruyne found himself in a goalscoring opportunity and the Belgian didn’t miss from a close-range.
Midway through the second half, when Manchester United players appeared they had given up fighting for the equaliser, Man City doubled their lead through a fine finish from Riyad Mahrez.

In the injury time, the Algerian scored City’s fourth game to seal what many described as a shameful performance by The Red Devils.
Jadon Sancho has taken to Twitter to react to the huge defeat, accepting that their performance against Man City wasn’t ‘good’ enough, and vows to fans that the players are working hard to turn the deficit around.
“Apologies to the fans… It’s not good enough,” tweeted Sancho. “We have to look ourselves as players and work hard to make things right. We will keep on fighting.”
Sancho has been United’s top performer since after the international break and his consistent top performances were rewarded by winning the Manchester United Player of the Month of February award.
The ex-Dortmund star, who scored twice and provided two assists in February, has continued his fine form in March with a goal against Man City.
