Jadon Sancho hails Man United transfer target 'what a player' after Europa League goal

Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho hailed his former team-mate and United transfer target Jude Bellingham after the teenager impressed in the Europa League round of 32.

Bellingham has developed himself into one of the best young midfielders in Europe since sealing his move to Dortmund from Birmingham two seasons ago. Man United and other top European sides are showing interest in the tireless midfielder.

The England international impressed against Rangers in the Europa League on Thursday night when he scored Dortmund’s first goal and set-up their second goal in Scotland.

The 18-year-old’s scintillating performance could not prevent Dortmund from crashing out of the Europa League after they lost to 6-4 on aggregate to Rangers.

Jadon Sancho was quick to laud his compatriot’s performance, however, writing on Twitter: ‘Jude Bellingham, what a player.’

Both players exchanged tweets last weekend after both players put out top performances in their respective clubs.

In the conversation, Bellingham urged the 21-year-old to continue proving his haters wrong, after Sancho was named as the Man of the Match against Leeds United.

His recent performances have also forced off praises from Manchester United legend, Roy Keane, who now thinks Sancho has grown in confidence at United.

‘He’s [Jadon Sancho] grown in confidence and is getting the United way. He’s getting braver and showing a bit more courage,’ Keane told Sky Sports.

‘We talk about what he’d done at Dortmund, playing for Dortmund and Man United is completely different. Dortmund are nowhere near as big as Man United.

‘It’s those little details that come from confidence and getting that swagger and it’s nice to see because he was getting heavily criticised.’
