Jose Mourinho reacts to Erik ten Hag appointment as Manchester United boss

AS Roma manager Jose Mourinho has reacted to Erik ten Hag’s appointment as the new Manchester United boss.

Man United last week announced that Ten Hag will become their new permanent manager, who would replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who was sacked in November.

Jose Mourinho was the last Manchester United manager to win a trophy at the club and this success was recorded five years ago, when he won the Europa League.

The Portuguese boss spent two and a half years at Old Trafford and won the Community Shield, EFL Cup [Carabao Cup] and the Europa League before he got sacked in 2018.

Ahead of AS Roma’s Europa Conference League clash at Leicester City, Mourinho was asked whether he has any advice for the current Ajax manager.

You’re right, [Manchester United] are my former club,” said Jose Mourinho. “No, I don’t have any advice for him [Erik ten Hag].”

AS Roma will look to bounce back from last weekend’s defeat to Inter Milan in the Serie A when they play visitors to Leicester tonight.

Manchester United will also be in action at home against Chelsea in the Premier League.
