Jude Bellingham sends encouraging message to Jadon Sancho after Leeds top display

Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho has received some words of encouragement from Jude Bellingham after his scintillating performance against Leeds United.

Sancho received widespread praise following his Man of the Match performance that played a huge role in Man United’s 4-2 win over Leeds.

The ex-Dortmund forward moved to Manchester United last summer in a deal of around £72million. Coming to a totally different league compared to the German Bundesliga would obviously take a toll on his progress at Old Trafford.

However, in recent weeks, the England international appears he has hit the stride, scoring two goals against Middlesbrough and Southampton before setting up two assists against Leeds United.

The 21-year-old has emerged as the favourite to win the Manchester United Player of the Month of February award, thanks to his consistent top displays.

Bellingham, 18, who joined Dortmund from Birmingham City in 2020, is shinning in the Bundesliga and made his 50th appearance in Germany’s top flight against Borussia Monchengladbach on Sunday.

In an exchange on Twitter, both youngsters, who were once team-mates at Dortmund, took the opportunity to praise each other.

‘My brother, keep destroying it over there. I’m proud of you brother,’ Sancho said to his former colleague.

In response, Bellingham replied: ‘Big love always brother, keep proving everyone wrong.’

Roy Keane was pleased with Sancho’s performance against Leeds United and claimed the prolific forward is getting the confidence needed to excel at Old Trafford.

‘He’s [Jadon Sancho] grown in confidence and is getting the United way. He’s getting braver and showing a bit more courage,’ Keane told Sky Sports.

‘We talk about what he’d done at Dortmund, playing for Dortmund and Man United is completely different. Dortmund are nowhere near as big as Man United.

‘It’s those little details that come from confidence and getting that swagger and it’s nice to see because he was getting heavily criticised.’
