Barcelona and Juventus have reportedly started talks with Manchester United over the possibility of signing Anthony Martial this month.
Martial is also a winter transfer target for Sevilla but according to Téléfoot reporter, Julien Maynard, the switch to the La Liga side is at a ‘standstill’.
The France international has struggled to make the starting lineup this season, following the summer signings of Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho.
Martial last made United’s matchday squad last year against Arsenal, of which he featured as a second half substitute.
The Frencnhman’s desire is to quit Manchester United this month in order to get his career back on track by getting more playing time, and there have been several offers for the forward.
Sevilla were the top candidate to lure Martial this month on a loan deal but Julien Maynard reports that the move is at a standstill.
And this is because of the salary split, and that Man United are also asking for a loan fee from the Spanish club.
The same report holds that the 26-year-old forward has spoken with the Andalusians’ manager Julian Lopetegui and has agreed personal terms with Sevilla.
Should Manchester United let Martial leave in January, they would have the likes of Edinson Cavani, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Cristiano Ronaldo and Mason Greenwood available at Ralf Rangnick’s disposal.
Martial scored a superb goal during Man United’s 1-1 draw against Everton on October 2 but was replaced by Cristiano Ronaldo before Andros Townsend scored the Toffees’ equaliser.
The ex-Monaco forward has scored only one goal this season in 10 appearances.
