Keane backs Cristiano Ronaldo to improve Rashford, Greenwood and Jadon Sancho

Keane backs Rashford, Greenwood, Sancho to learn from Cristiano Ronaldo

Former Tottenham player Robbie Keane has explained how Cristiano Ronaldo would improve the likes of Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, and Mason Greenwood at Manchester United.

Man United signed Ronaldo from Juventus last month after reports claimed that the Portuguese star was set on joining Manchester City.

Ronaldo will become one of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s attacking options at United. The Norwegian boss said after the Wolves win last weekend that the Portugal’s captain didn’t join the Reds to sit on the bench.

Many are expecting the 36-year-old forward to make a positive impact on Solskjaer’s young players Rashford, Martial, Greenwood, and Sancho.

Keane believes the presence of Ronaldo will improve the young attackers at United and urges them to always watch how the five-time Ballon d’Or winner trains.

The younger players around him, you’ll see them grow now even more just because they’re around his presence,” Keane told the PA News Agency, according to Sports Mole.

“You know he won’t accept that the lads are doing it the wrong way. For example, if I’m Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood, I would be watching Ronaldo every day.

“How does he train? How does he prepare himself? Because it’s like education for them, for someone who’s been the best player in the world for however many years.”

Cristiano Ronaldo could make his second Manchester United debut next weekend against Newcastle United in the Premier League.

Ronaldo is currently observing a five-day quarantine at Manchester and will be allowed to train with his new team-mates next week.

The ex-Real Madrid forward became the all-time top goalscorer in men’s international football with 111 goals after scoring a brace against the Republic of Ireland on Wednesday in the World Cup Qualifiers. He would receive a one-match ban after he was shown a yellow card for taking his shirt off while celebrating his injury-time winner.
