King of the match announced after draw between Manchester United and Chelsea

Cristiano Ronaldo has been named as the king of the match between Manchester United and Chelsea.

The Blues dominated the first half, created loads of chances but David de Gea was too hard to beat, making five saves in the first 45 minutes.

Fifteen minutes after the interval, Marcos Alonso broke the deadlock with a top finish from inside the penalty box.

But a few minutes later, Manchester United made the perfect reaction and Cristiano Ronaldo scored the equaliser with a top volley.

The Portuguese star was brilliant against Chelsea, not only for his goal, but his contributions without the ball.

According to Budweiser, Cristiano Ronaldo has been voted as the king of the rivalry clash at Old Trafford tonight.

Ralf Rangnick was personally pleased with Ronaldo’s performance against Chelsea.

Rangnick told Sky Sports: “Not only the goal Cristiano scored but his whole performance, his attitude at age of 37, this is not normal to do that.

“If he plays like he did today he can still be a big help to this team.”

On the Portuguese star’s future at Old Trafford, the German boss added: “It is Erik’s [ten Hag] and also Cristiano’s decision for what he can do next — but today his performance was really great.”

Ronaldo has scored 17 goals in the Premier League this term so far, eight of them came against the top six sides.
