Manchester United ace Paul Pogba fires warning to Atletico Madrid ahead of return leg

Paul Pogba has warned Atletico Madrid that Manchester United ‘want to win’ the Champions League round of 16 return leg at Old Trafford.

Man United successfully bounced back to winning ways on Saturday when they beat Tottenham 3-2 at Old Trafford in the Premier League, with Cristiano Ronaldo, Atletico’s nightmare, scoring a hat-trick.

United had lost 4-1 to Manchester City last weekend in the league but the victory over Spurs has surely raised the mood in the Manchester United dressing room.

The Red Devils were outclassed in the first leg against Atletico at Estadio Wanda Metropolitano after Ralf Rangnick made some wrong calls in his starting line-up.

Though Pogba admits they made some mistakes in the reverse fixture, he believes United are ‘looking forward’ to making things right in the return leg at Manchester on Tuesday.

“We knew what we did wrong [in the first leg] and I think we’re going to work well to beat them [Atletico Madrid],” Pogba told Prime Amason.

“That’s the most important [thing]. Now we are at home and we want to win. We are looking forward to this and we are going to recover to get ready for this game.

“We are going to prepare ourselves very well for this game and just be confident. That’s it.”

Joao Felix scored the opener with a beautiful header but Anthony Elanga, second half substitute, scored the equaliser late in the game with a nerveless strike.

A win over the Spanish side would take Manchester United into the Champions League quarter-final.
