Manchester United fans in frenzy after Erik ten Hag says he's ready for Ajax exit

Manchester United fans went into a frenzy after Erik ten Hag admitted that he is ready to leave Ajax at the end of the season.

Man United sacked Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last two weekends following a huge defeat at Watford.

Since his departure, several managers including Mauricio Pochettino and ten Hag have been linked with a move to replace the Norwegian boss.

However, neither was signed as these managers do not fancy dumping their current club halfway through the season to join Manchester United.

As a result, United subsequently appointed Ralf Rangnick as their interim manager.

There are suggestions that the German boss may become the permanent manager at end of the season if the results go as planned while some reports claim the former RB Leipzig boss isn’t looking at managing the Reds beyond his six months deal, regardless.

Should United part ways with Rangnick at the end of the season, Manchester United may have received the green light to try and eventually sign their target, ten Hag, who has seemingly put himself available for hiring, after stating that he believes he’s ready for a new challenge.

Speaking after Ajax’s 5-0 win over Willem II on Thursday, Erik ten Hag told Volkskrant: “I believe I’m ready [for a move]. I’d gladly accept that challenge.

“But it’s not that I’m hunting for it, if this step doesn’t arrive I won’t say my career has failed.

“But I believe I have enough skills to accept the challenge.”

Erik ten Hag’s comments have sent some Manchester United fans into a frenzy, with many already welcoming the Dutchman to Old Trafford.

The first fan said: “He’s begging to come, cant miss this opportunity in the summer.”

“Bring him to le Théâtre next summer,” said another fan.

“If that’s the case warmly welcome,” another excited fan tweeted.
