Manchester United have been linked with a summer move for Juventus midfielder Merih Demiral, who is currently on loan with Atalanta.
Man United are expected to sign a midfielder in the summer, having watched the impact it made on their season after failing to strengthen that area last summer.
The like of Declan Rice has been linked with moves to Old Trafford but according to Turkish outlet Fanatik Manchester United are preparing a summer bid for Merih Demiral.
Demiral moved to La Dea from Juventus for a season-long loan and has impressed with Atalanta so far, appearing 31 times in all competitions.
The 24-year-old midfielder moved to Atalanta last summer in a bid to replace Cristian Romero, who moved to Tottenham last summer.
And Demiral has been a revelation since his arrival. He was also part of the squad that knocked out Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League round of 32.
Also, his performance in the midweek against the German side helped him win the Europa League Player of the Week award.
Even if the report is true, Manchester United’s next boss will have to offload a midfielder or two in the summer in a bid to create a space for new recruits.
Paul Pogba will be a free agent at the end of the season if he fails to agree to a new deal with Man United and his exit will enable United’s new manager to start his rebuild from the midfield.
Erik ten Hag and Mauricio Pochettino are the two top choices to become The Red Devils’ new manager at the end of the season.
