Manchester United have reportedly made an offer to Borussia Monchengladbach over a potential move for Denis Zakaria this month.
Man United, who missed out on signing a defensive midfielder last summer, are reportedly interested in signing Zakaria.
According to BILD journalist, Christian Falk, United have made an offer to the midfielder’s agents.
The sports reporter continued that there are no negotiations with the club, Borussia Mönchengladbach, at the moment but United are willing to pay for a transfer this month, although the player is a free agent in the summer.
Manchester United are anxious to improve their midfield this month, in order to advance Ralf Rangnick’s chances of succeeding as their interim manager.
SPORT1 chief reporter Patrick Berger claims that United are ‘definitely’ interested in signing Denis Zakaria this month and have made contact with Monchengladbach, unlike what Christian Falk earlier reported.
Berger holds that the Red Devils are discussing a winter transfer with the Bundesliga club and they are willing to sell for €6m-€7m.
Ralf Rangnick is a huge fan of the Switzerland international and would love to work with the midfielder this time at United.
Denis Zakaria will be a free agent at the end of the season and Monchengladbach wouldn’t want to lose one of their key players for free.
Zakaria made five appearances for Monchengladbach in the Champions League this season.
He’s also made 15 Bundesliga appearances and has two goals and one assist as a defensive midfielder to brag about.
