Manchester United academy goalie Matej Kovar signed a new contract before heading to Burton Albion on a loan.
Kovar will spend the remainder of the season on loan with the League One side, the club confirmed.
The young shot stopper featured in 19 appearances at Under 23 level for Manchester United and will now look to add pressure on Ben Garratt for a starting place at Burton Albion.
The League One side manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink views the arrival of Kovar as a great addition to his side and backs him to give Garratt a hard time.
“Kovar will come in and make life hard for Ben and provide some good competition at the club,” Hasselbaink told Burton Albion’s official website.

“He will add some great competition, he is a young keeper and we felt like we needed another one in the door.”
Though the Manchester United starlet hasn’t made a single senior appearance, he was an unused substitute during United’s game against Astana in the Europa League last two seasons.
The young Czech goalie has represented his country at multiple youth levels including Under-18s and Under-21s level.
Also, he joined Swindon Town on loan during the 2020/2021 but left the club midway through the season to favour a return to Manchester United.
It is imperative to know that the 21-year-old had been involved in training with the first team this season.
