Manchester United have received a double injury boost ahead of their clash against West Ham United after MEN reported that Cristiano Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani joined up with the squad for tomorrow’s game.
Man United interim manager Ralf Rangnick has earlier confirmed that Ronaldo could miss tomorrow’s game against West Ham due to a neck injury.
The Portuguese icon was replaced in the second half by Harry Maguire during Manchester United’s 3-1 win over Brentford.
Ronaldo was visibly furious as to why the German boss would haul him off when the team needed to score more goals.
During today’s pre-West Ham United conference, Rangnick said the five-time Ballon d’Or winner could miss the game with a neck injury, despite the star spending hours to treat the injury on Thursday.
And also confirmed that Cavani has resumed training but has no clue on whether or not the Uruguay star will be fit for the game.
However, Ronaldo’s and Cavani’s availabilities for tomorrow’s game will come as good news to Manchester United and Rangnick, who will be aiming to build on their victory against Brentford.
‘He received treatment yesterday for two-three hours and we will have to wait to see how he feels today.
‘Edi [Cavani] hasn’t been training with the team yet and will hopefully resume training today and then we’ll take the final decision after the training session today, [around] if he will be available for the game tomorrow.”
Cristiano Ronaldo played the reverse fixture against the Hammers and helped United beat David Moyes’ side 2-1 at the London Stadium.
Cavani last featured for United against Aston Villa on January 15 but couldn’t prevent Man United from losing their two-goal after Villa scored two late goals in the second half.
