Manchester United midfielder Fred could miss tomorrow’s Premier League tie against Burnley after he reportedly left Carrington 20 minutes after he arrived.
The Brazilian international was a second half substitute during Man United’s defeat to Middlesbrough on Friday in the FA Cup fourth round.
Before the clash, Fred was left on the bench as Brazil beat Paraguay 4-0 in the World Cup Qualifier.
And his chances of making his first start for Manchester United since United’s 1-0 win over West Ham United, might have been thwarted following the news surrounding him.
MEN report that Fred left Man United’s Carrington after 20 minutes after he had arrive for training.
The report also confirmed that Jesse Lingard and Edinson Cavani have returned to training, handing Manchester United more boost in their quest to make a top-four finish this term.
“Edi Cavani will only return at the weekend, he contacted me at the weekend and asked to have two more days at home, I knew he couldn’t be in starting XI with jet lag anyway,” said Rangnick ahead of Middlesbrough’s clash.
“He [Jesse Lingard] asked me & the club if we could give him a couple of days off just to clear up his mind & he’ll be back in the group, I suppose, Monday, back for training & then be a regular part of the whole squad again.”
Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick would face the press today ahead of tomorrow’s night clash against relegation-threatened Burnley.
There he will give more light on why Fred left training early and other topics regarding the fitness of his players and Burnley.
