Manchester United defender Phil Jones has reportedly declined a loan move to Bordeaux after the Ligue 1 side failed to meet his demands.
Jones became a winter target for the French side and looked like he was going to finish the remainder of the season abroad.
Several outlets held that Bordeaux showed a strong interest in signing the England international on loan and the Manchester United defender was relishing the chance to join the Ligue 1 side.
However, recent reports in France are suggesting that the deal has collapsed and Jones will either remain at Old Trafford or seal another loan move before the transfer deadline.
The 29-year-old ranks at the bottom in the centre-back pecking order at Manchester United and would even struggle to make cup appearances.
Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, Eric Bailly and Raphael Varane are said to be above Phil Jones as Ralf Rangnick’s preferred centre-back pairing.
Jones impressed against Wolves earlier this month and received widespread praise from Ralf Rangnick, team-mates and fans.
