Manchester United told to offload Cristiano Ronaldo to let three players shine

Manchester United have been told to offload Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer in bid to let the likes of Mason Greenwood, Jadon Sancho, and Marcus Rashford shine in the attack.

Man United signed Ronaldo from Juventus last summer but so far, there hasn’t been any improvement in the team.

After his signing, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and the majority of his coaching staff left their positions.

Ralf Rangnick was appointed to replace the Norwegian boss in order to lift the mood at Old Trafford but so far, there hasn’t been any notable change at the club, nada.

Ronaldo may have scored 14 goals for the Red Devils this season, but much has been made of his influence on the pitch.

The 36-year-old has been strongly criticised for his attitude when things don’t go his way, with several football pundits calling him out.

Manchester United were outplayed and subsequently lost 1-0 to Wolves at Old Trafford, despite having both Cristiano Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani starting in the attack.

Agbonlahor claims the system doesn’t work and believes the likes of Mason Greenwood, Sancho and Rashford would do a better job in the attack.

‘Ronaldo looks like he’s using a yard of pace every time he plays,’ he told Football Insider.

‘Ronaldo and Cavani, two up front doesn’t work every game because you need one of those players to drop into midfield and get the ball. That’s where they missed Fernandes.

‘You’ve seen the difference in Fernandes since Ronaldo has come in. Before Ronaldo came in, Fernandes was the main man. Now Ronaldo’s the main man.

‘Ronaldo was captain against Wolves. Before Ronaldo came it was Fernandes who was captain when Harry Maguire was out and now he’s on the bench.

‘There’s going to be tension there. If you look at the whole situation, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will know he made a mistake by bringing Ronaldo in, simple as that.

‘Yes, Ronaldo has scored but he’s scored goals that Greenwood would have scored, Rashford would have scored in that position.

‘For me, I would let Ronaldo go in the summer. Let Greenwood, Sancho and Rashford play together.’

Manchester United will return to action on January 10 when they host Aston Villa in the FA Cup 3rd round.

In five days time, they will take a trip to Villa Park to face Aston Villa in the Premier League. Man United lost the reverse fixture 1-0 at Old Trafford.
