Former Manchester United player Paul Parker has heaped praise on Anthony Elanga, comparing him to United great Ryan Giggs, and says he is a ‘must’ starter.
The Man United teenager, Elanga, has been on impressive form in recent weeks, hence why he has started in United’s last three Premier League matches.
Elanga opened the scoring against Brentford with a fine header from close-range as Manchester United went on to win the tie 3-1.
The 19-year-old impressed again as United needed a last-minute goal to see off well-organised Hammers at Old Trafford, thanks to Marcus Rashford’s close-range effort.
Parker has explained how the Manchester United academy graduate reminds him of young Ryan Giggs, hailing him as ‘everything’ United fans want to see in their player.
What Paul Parker said of Anthony Elanga
“He wants to be better than others and he even goes down to get the ball. He is everything the fans want to see, says Parker.”
The former Manchester United defender also wants Ralf Rangnick to make the teenager a regular starter in his squad.
Parker continued: “He does it so well that he “must” start. He is selfless in his runs because he is willing to run and net he does not get the ball so he does not stand and swear and wiggle his arms.
“When he runs and does not get the ball, he runs again.”
