West Ham United players Kurt Zouma and Tomas Soucek are running against time to be fit to face Manchester United on Saturday.
The Hammers will take a trip to Manchester to take on Man United at Old Trafford on Sunday and could be without some of their senior players.
Soucek and Zouma are reportedly facing late fitness assessments in order to know if they would be fit or not to face Manchester United.
Both players were absent as West Ham United succumbed to a shock 3-2 home defeat to relegation fighters Leeds United in the Premier League last weekend.
In Soucek’s absence, Manuel Lanzini paired alongside Declan Rice but their partnership couldn’t prevent David Moyes’ side from dropping all three points against Marcelo Biesla’s side.
Both Zouma & Soucek tested positive for Covid in the run up to the Leeds game last weekend.
The Hammers received a boost after Said Benrahma returned back to the club following Algeria’s elimination from the ongoing AFCON.
Benrahma is now in contention to face United on Saturday.
Tomas Soucek last featured on January 9 against during West Ham’s 2-0 win over Leeds United in the FA Cup.
Kurt Zouma’s last appearance was during West Ham’s 3-2 win over Chelsea on December 4.
Manchester United will be without the likes of Victor Lindelof, Luke Shaw, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Jadon Sancho and long-term absentee Paul Pogba for the clash against West Ham.
