Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood has confirmed his loan move to Getafe in a video shared by the club on social media.
Greenwood, who hasn’t played football since 2022 due to the charges of rape and domestic violence against him, finally has a chance to get his career back to the top in Spain.
Manchester United carried out an internal investigation on the Englishman but the result came back that he’s innocent of the allegations made against him.
Man United were keen on bringing him back to the team but the backlash they received from their fans on social media left them with no choice but to loan him out, although some fans wanted the club to terminate his contract at once – which United can’t, for legal reasons.
However, the Red Devils helped him seal a move to Getafe on deadline day and the La Liga side has unveiled him as their new signing and #12.
The Spanish club took to Twitter to inform their fans about their new signing, in which Greenwood was heard sending out a message to his new fans.
In the video, the 21-year-old said: “Hi Getafe fans, this is Mason here, I am so happy to be here and I cant wait to get started.”

When can Mason Greenwood make his Getafe debut?
The Manchester United forward will start training with his new team-mates whilst the international break is on and will be in contention to feature against Osasuna after the break, if he’s match fit.
This game will be held at Getafe’s home, which is anticipated to be a great atmosphere for him.
