Mason Greenwood: Serie A Lazio in talks with Manchester United to sign forward

Manchester United and Lazio are reportedly in transfer talks to sign Mason Greenwood transfer deadline day, according to reports in Italy.

Man United announced in August that Greenwood, despite being found NOT GUILTY following an internal investigation made by the club on his rape and domestic violence accusation, will leave the club.

The Red Devils had initially planned to reinstate him in the first team after nearly two years in suspension but the backlash from some of their fans and staff forced them to make a U-turn in their decision.

It’s more likely that the Englishman will continue his career elsewhere and reports in Italy claim that Lazio and United are in talks for the 21-year-old.

According to Di Marzio, both clubs are in talks and it could enter an advanced stage if Lazio’s head coach Maurizio Sarri gives green light to the signing.

Understand that Besiktas are also one of the clubs keen on signing the prolific forward but no concrete offer has been made.

The Manchester United academy graduate remains a player at Old Trafford, as United haven’t terminated his contract for obvious legal reasons.

Greenwood has also been training all by himself as he looks to continue his career away from Man United and England.
