Manchester United defender Raphael Varane is reportedly going to be sidelined with an injury he suffered against Nottingham Forest for at least six weeks.
The Varane’s injury update was reported by Sky Sports as Erik ten Hag and Man United keep searching for a new left-back.
Varane was hauled off at the break with Manchester United 2-0 down at half-time against Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford and he was replaced by Victor Lindelof, who would go on to superbly pair alongside Lisandro Martinez and help United stage a huge 3-2 comeback win.
Following Sky Sports’ report on the Frenchman’s injury, the Red Devils are now likely to play at least five Premier League matches without the World Cup winner.
United will take a trip to London this weekend to face Arsenal and the ex-Real Madrid defender is unlikely to be part of the travelling squad.
If the reports are true, Raphael Varane is likely going to miss the following Premier League matches;
Arsenal vs Manchester United [away]
Manchester United vs Brighton [home]
Burnley vs Manchester United [away]
Manchester United vs Crystal Palace [home]
Manchester United vs Brentford [home]
Club action will take the back seat immediately after the Brentford game to observe yet another international break, which would be good news for Manchester United as Varane is expected to be fit for selection for the game Sheffield United at away.
The 30-year-old centre-back has now joined the likes of Kobi Mainoo, Tyrell Malacia, Luke Shaw, Rasmus Hojlund, Amad Diallo, Mason Mount and Tom Heaton on the sickbed.
