"My destiny is in my hands" - Manchester United target Jude Bellingham makes transfer decision

Manchester United transfer target Jude Bellingham has confirmed that he would remain at Borussia Dortmund for at least one more year, despite having interest from teams in the Premier League.

Man United were one of the interested teams who tried to lure Bellingham while he was at Birmingham City two years ago but the then-16-year-old moved to Dortmund instead.

The midfielder has only improved since moving to the Bundesliga and is closing in on 100 appearances with Borussia Dortmund.

Bellingham has impressed in the Bundesliga this season and was also in the squad that won the DFB-Pokal last season.

His progress has caught the attention of several big teams in Europe and the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea ad Liverpool have all been linked with moves for his signature.

Regardless of these exciting rumours, the 18-year-old has confirmed that he would be staying at Dortmund next season at least and has thanked the German giants for supporting his development over the past two campaigns

‘The only future I think about is the next game for Dortmund,’ he told Ruhr Nachrichten BVB.

‘I look forward to next season. I look forward to it starting again. But yes, I will be here next season and I will be ready.

‘My destiny is in my own hands and I know that if I try hard and trust the people around me, I can move forward.

‘I came from England as a young talent. There was not much pressure. The first season went well. There were also matches where I sat on the bench and sometimes I did not play at all.

‘I think my development this year has meant that I have played a bigger role in every game except two. I am very grateful to Dortmund for the way they have nurtured my talent.

‘I think a lot of the credit goes to the coaching staff and the staff who keep the noise around me. In this way I can only focus on winning matches, because that’s what I’m here for.’

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink recently advised Erik ten Hag to sign Jude Bellingham from Dortmund and build his Machester United squad around him.

‘Another one that I would buy is Jude Bellingham. If United are serious about rebuilding the squad, go and get Bellingham and build the team around him. They won’t go wrong with him or Harry Kane.’
