Newcastle United set to pay £6m to sign Manchester United star on loan

Newcastle United are reportedly ready to pay Manchester United £6million to sign Anthony Martial on loan.

Martial has been limited to substitute appearances at Man United since the Red Devils signed Jadon Sancho and Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer.

The France international has scored only five goals in his last 29 Premier League matches, stretching back to last season though.

Martial is keen on playing regularly – something that looks unlikely at United at the moment, under Ralf Rangnick.

As such, teams, including Atletico Madrid and Juventus, are already monitoring the forward’s situation at Old Trafford.

However, The Sun claim that Newcastle have emerged as the favourites to sign Martial and are willing to pay £6million to Man United to sign the Frenchman on loan.

Martial’s agent has recently warned Manchester United that his client wishes to leave the club in January ahead of next year’s World Cup.

‘Anthony wishes to leave the club in January,’ Lamboley, Martial’s agent, told Sky Sports News.

‘He just needs to play. He doesn’t want to stay in January and I will speak to the club soon.’

Anthony Martial, 27, has made seven Premier League appearances for Manchester United this season and has only one goal to show.
