N'Golo Kante breaks silence on his Chelsea future amid shock move to Manchester United

Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante said he isn’t bothered about his future at Stamford Bridge amid a shock move to Manchester United.

Man United are expected to splash the cash in the summer in bids to advance Erik ten Hag’s chances of taking the club back to the top and to replace some of their first team players who would be leaving at the end of the season.

Nemanja Matic, Paul Pogba, Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard are all expected to leave the club when their current contracts expire in the summer.

N’Golo Kanta emerged as a transfer target for Manchester United this month, with several outlets claiming the World Cup winner has been added to Ten Hag’s transfer wishlist.

The 31-year-old has one year left on his current deal with The Blues but if the midfielder stalls on extending his deal, Chelsea may decide to sell him this summer in order to avoid losing him on a free transfer in 12 months’ time.

The former Leicester City midfielder insists he’s more focused on Chelsea’s remaining two games of the season and afterwards, he would weigh on his future.

Asked about his future at Stamford Bridge, Kante told Sky Sports: ‘The only thing that is sure is that I have one more year on my contract. It’s not really my concern.

‘The only thing [on my mind] is to finish the season well. I’ll think about it at the right time but I just want to finish the season as best as possible.’

Former Manchester United player, Paul Parker, believes N’Golo Kante will 100 per cent improve Erik ten Hag’s midfield if they lure him away from Chelsea.

“He (N’Golo Kante) will improve Manchester United’s midfield a hundred per cent,’ Parker told indiabetting.co.in. ‘Because he can go and get the ball out of people without always fouling them.

“He doesn’t go around looking to hurt people and when he does get the ball, he keeps the ball.”
