Piers Morgan, a journalist and TV broadcaster, has revealed the text he got from Cristiano Ronaldo after the Manchester United forward went against his plea not to score against Arsenal.
Morgan and Ronaldo have been good friends since the Portuguese forward was at Man United during his first stint.
Morgan is also one of Cristiano Ronaldo’s biggest fans, something the former Real Madrid forward is aware of.
The 56-year-old had one time urged the Portuguese legend to sign for Arsenal, a club the journalist supports.
Manchester United hosted Arsenal at Old Trafford in the Premier League last month and Piers Morgan begged Ronaldo not to score against the Gunners.
The 36-year-old would not let his friendship with Piers Morgan stand in his way from hurting Arsenal.
Ronaldo would go on to score a brace against Mikel Arteta’s men and help United win the tie 3-2.
And speaking to Daily Mail, Morgan recalled how ice-cold Ronaldo was against his fan club, Arsenal.
“Of course, he scored twice, and United won 3-2.
“‘Sorry,’ Cristiano texted back after the final whistle.”
