Paul Pogba vs Brighton: 17 minutes cameo, skills, ball recoveries, passes, through passes

Paul Pogba help Manchester United beat Brighton and Hove Albion 2-0 at Old Trafford on Tuesday night, despite starting the game on the bench.

Man United interim manager Ralf Rangnick decided to drop Pogba on the bench in a bid to start with Fred and Scott McTominay as a double pivot.

The German boss said before the game that he dropped the France star, who has starred in Manchester United’s last three matches, to the bench because he wanted fresh legs in the midfield and also didn’t want to overuse Pogba, who was out injured for almost three months.

Despite having only 17 minutes on his hands to make his marks, Paul Pogba put out a world-class performance, providing the assist to Bruno Fernandes’ last-minute goal.

Some fans claimed that Pogba contributed more in only 17 minutes than what both Fred and McTominay offered in 73 minutes and 90 minutes respectively.

A fan shared a video of Paul Pogba’s performance against Brighton, and fans would see Pogba bossing the midfield just something both McFred couldn’t do.

And the video has gone viral on Twitter already.

The 28-year-old has now provided eight assists in the Premier League this season.

His assist against Brighton becomes the fourth time he has assisted Bruno Fernandes in the league this season, no other player has done so.

Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring early in the second half after Jadon Sancho had missed from what was described as a big chance.

In the last seconds of the game, Bruno Fernandes scored the second goal, with Pogba providing the assist.

Manchester United are in 4th position with 43 points from 25 matches, three points behind Chelsea, who have played a game less.
