Paul Pogba disagrees with many over Liverpool vs Manchester United showdown

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has refused to agree that Liverpool vs Man United clash on Sunday will decide which team will win the Premier League.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his players will take a trip to Anfield this weekend to take on the reigning champions, with many claiming the tie could be the decider of the league battle this season.

Man United climbed to the first place after beating Burnley 1-0 at Turf Moor, with Paul Pogba scoring the only goal in the clash and Manchester City moved to the 3rd place following a tight 1-0 win against Brighton on Wednesday.

Like everyone, Paul Pogba knows if Manchester United beat Liverpool, they will go six points clear of Jurgen Klopp’s men but is insisting that he sees the derby like any other league games.

However, the World Cup winner concurs that the game will make a difference in the Premier League standings but has urged his teammates to remain focused and keep their calm.

“We know the story. We know it’s Liverpool,” Paul Pogba told MUTV. “Everybody knows it. We know they’re second, they know we’re first. We know if we win we have six points [on them], everybody knows that.

“I don’t think this game [against Liverpool] will decide the league. I know it’s going to make a difference, but it won’t decide the league. We have to take it as a hard game in the league, not as the game.

“I know it’s an important game, but all the games are. We don’t have to make it too much about ‘ah it’s the game’. It’s Liverpool and when it’s Liverpool it’s always a big game, we know that. We just have to keep calm and keep our focus and we’ll see.”

Manchester United are genuine title contenders for the first time in eight years, following a solid run of form over the past few months.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men have won nine and drawn two in their last eleven Premier League matches, making the Reds worthy of the current position they occupy in the league.

Paul Pogba is aware of the tasks needed to overcome before being crowned as the champions of England and has urged his team to stay focused, despite knowing how difficult it is to remain at the top of the league.

“We’re there [in the title race] but we know it’s going to be tough, very, very difficult,” Pogba added. “We know it. Beautiful things don’t come easy, so we know we’re going to have to get through this.

“You never know in this league, it’s always very hard. I think we’ve been doing great with our results and performance, all of the team. It’s our focus. We know we can do it and we have to believe. Anything can happen.”

He is an immense fan of the club since 2005. Miracle wonders where Man United would have ranked in the Premier League history if Sir Alex Ferguson wasn't given enough time to rebuild the team.
