Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has reacted to Michail Antonio’s response to those demanding West Ham United to sack Kurt Zouma over cat kicking.

Zouma’s brother early this week shared a video clip of Kurt Zouma booting his cat at home online, which has since gone viral across social media.

The West Ham United defender’s act has been described as animal cruelty, which is an offence in the UK and has its own penalties.

Adidas took a quick response upon investigating the situation and cut ties with the France international. The Hammers have also taken action by charging the defender £250,000 for his behaviour.

Despite these reasonable moves from Kurt Zouma’s club and Adidas, millions of people still demanding West Ham terminate the defender’s contract.

During The Hammers’ clash against Watford at the London Stadium, the fans on the stands chanted ‘that’s how your cat felt’ when Zouma was lying on the pitch enduring a knock he received.

Some fear what Kurt Zouma is going through is beyond his cat kicking offence. Some fans online have since criticised West Ham United for charging the Frenchman such a huge amount, and others asked whether Adidas would cut ties off if the offence was made by a white player or high profile player.

Reporters approached Michail Antonio and asked him about how West Ham United are handling the situation with Kurt Zouma.

And the West Ham striker, who doesn’t condone with his teammate has done, asked whether what Zouma had done is worse than racism. And also suggested that several players had been convicted of racism but still played football afterwards.

“I’ve got a question for you, do you think what he’s done is worse than racism? Antonio asked a reporter.

“I’m not condoning a thing he’s done…but there’s people that are convicted, been caught for racism, and have played football afterwards.

“People are now calling people to be sacked, for them to lose their livelihood.”

The video has since gone viral, which has also convinced many that the defender has suffered more than his cat kicking offence.

Some have compared Zouma’s kick to the UK’s Horse Racing. They are demanding that the jockeys should get exactly the same treatment as Zouma as they claim horse racing is also animal cruelty, thanks to how many whips the horses receive during races.
