Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has predicted how his former club should lineup against Arsenal after their impressive performance against Chelsea.
Man United secured a big point at Stamford Bridge after the tie ended in a 1-1 draw, with Jadon Sancho opening the scoring and Jorginho closing the scoring from the penalty spot.
Michael Carrick had his boys press tirelessly against the Blues, though they were outplayed in the first, they stopped Chelsea from creating many clear-cut chances.
Cristiano Ronaldo was dropped to the bench after Carrick decided to play with three central midfielders, with Bruno Fernandes behind Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho.
Scholes has stated that Ronaldo will need to return back to the starting lineup against Arsenal as he doesn’t expect Manchester United to pack the bus against the Gunners, just as they did at Stamford Bridge, because he believes Mikel Arteta’s side is not as good as other elite sides in the league.
‘[I’d] play a centre forward for a start,’ Scholes told Premier League Productions.
Harry Maguire has returned to United’s matchday squad after serving his one-match ban against Chelsea.
Would Carrick maintain the same backline he used against Chelsea or bring the club skipper back into the firing line alongside Victor Lindelof? Of course the latter would be the case.
Scholes only predicted how United’s frontline should look like against Arsenal, so we completed how the midfield and backline should look like.
